Traumhafte Lagerplaetze versprechen wir uns direkt am Meeresufer des Indischen Ozeans. Um hierher zu kommen, muessen wir stets unsere schwerbeladenen Raeder durch huegelige und vor allem sandige Wege durchbringen. Manchesmal sind nach nahezu hundert geradelten Kilometern nochmal anderthalb Stunden harte Arbeit notwendig, um vom Highway EN1 an die wenige Kilometer entfernten Nachtplaetze zu gelangen. Teilweise muessen wir unsere Bikes auch schieben und erreichen schweissgebadet im gefuehlten Schneckentempo das Ziel. [G.]This is the part the tour books never mention as they don’t expect the three Musketeers to venture here. Some of these roads requre 4 by 4 vehicles to negotiate the hilly and sandy terrain. When we try to cycle we sink into the sand and more often Toto falls off his bike.
On this day we wanted to spend the night camping by the beach and so we had to use our 1 by 1 legs to push our bikes. It was worth it but we still had to use the same sandy road the next morning to take us to the main road.
